2020 First Dude / Kindling

My Lil Dude, known simply as “Dude” around the farm is a Thoroughbred gelding whose name perfectly suits his quiet, old-soul personality. He became part of our Racing to Rescue program in early 2024 after he and another Thoroughbred were pulled from a kill pen.

With 12 career starts and just over $50,000 in earnings, Dude had worked hard before finding himself without a safety net. When rescued, he was noticeably underweight and lame, requiring time, care, and patience to begin healing both physically and emotionally.

Since settling onto the farm, Dude has made tremendous strides. His gentle, steady nature shines through more each day. We are pleased to announce he has now been placed with New Vocations to begin his next journey of becoming a well-loved riding partner for someone! He will be available for adoption through them when he is ready.
