Overview
My Lil Dude, known simply as “Dude” around the farm, is a Thoroughbred gelding whose name perfectly reflects his quiet, old-soul personality. He became part of Resolute Racing’s Racing to Rescue program in early 2024 after he and another Thoroughbred were saved from a kill pen, ensuring he would have the opportunity for a safe and secure future.

With 12 career starts and over $50,000 in earnings, Dude gave his all during his racing career before finding himself in need of support and rehabilitation. When he arrived, he was underweight and dealing with lameness, requiring time, care, and patience to recover both physically and emotionally.

Since settling in, Dude has made tremendous progress and continues to show his gentle, steady nature each day. He has now been placed with the experienced team at the New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program, where he has begun his retraining and transition into life as a riding horse. With his kind temperament and resilient spirit, Dude is expected to make a wonderful partner for his future adopter and he is now available for adoption on their website!
