Overview
Onyx Storm is a handsome young Thoroughbred gelding with a powerful story of resilience and second chances. He was one of three yearlings rescued from a kill pen after their purchaser failed to complete payment, leaving them abandoned and without a safety net. Known simply as “Ed” prior to receiving his Jockey Club name, Onyx Storm was brought into Resolute Racing’s Racing to Rescue program, ensuring he would have the opportunity for a safe and secure future.
Following his rescue, Onyx Storm entered race training at WinStar, where he showed willingness and a good work ethic. While he ultimately did not progress toward a racing career, he gained valuable foundational experience before returning to the farm to let down, mature, and enjoy life outside of training.
Now fully settled and thriving, Onyx Storm is a kind, athletic young gelding ready to begin his next chapter. With his strong physical foundation and bright outlook, he is an excellent candidate for retraining and would make a rewarding partner for someone looking to develop a young Thoroughbred for sport or pleasure.
